Dr. Neem

I’ve always been an admirer for natural products with natural ingredients as a key component, these days skin care products are filled with harmful chemicals that can cause serious invisible health issues, did you know that an antibacterial soap has a chemical called triclosan that interferes with the body’s regulation of thyroid hormones? These lead to hormonal issues, infertility, obesity and cancer. This I only found out a couple of years ago, and completely stopped using antibacterial soaps, instead use natural means of antibacterial soaps and skincare.

That being said, natural products are least available compared to the commercial skincare products, you do get them but they’re either expensive, hard to get or not easily available in the country. So most of us stick to a certain herbal brand that’s easily available in stores and hypermarkets.

Well, there’s good news now! A new natural skincare product “Dr. Neem” is now available in stores nearby! This is exciting news for me because I’ve always stuck to a certain brand, as they were the only available option I had.

A couple of days ago, I was sent a Dr.Neem Box to review, this was one of the most elegant boxes I’ve received, and the best part was it had natural goodies!

Just before I talk about the product and my experience with them, let’s get to know a bit more about the brand.

As you open the box, the first thing that caught my eye was this little elegant positive quote.

This moisturising body lotion is a must have next to your bedside, I’m not sure if your a body lotion addict but I am, I need to apply my lotion every night before sleeping or every time after a shower, this is a lightweight moisturising lotion which is light and smooth on my skin and lightly rose fragrance.  Ideal to protect your skin from dehydration and dry weather, also just right to hydrate yourself after a nice warm shower.

Did you know: hot showers strip the skin of its natural oils and can make common problems like eczema worse. “They can also increase generalized itching even in people who do not have eczema, For healthier skin, keep the shower short and the temperature warm or tepid (not hot).

So, had a shower using this shower gel, and must say I’m liking this, despite me not being a big Oudh fan, the fragrance is just right and not too overwhelming. You feel fresh, leaves the skin moisturized and germ-free, the oudh and the neem extract are 100 % authentic in this product. Even after the shower, the light fragrance of oudh lingers on your skin for a while, which is great! and ideal for all you oudh and attar lovers out there!

What is Oudh? (For those of you who aren’t aware)

Oudh, also known as agarwood, is an exotic and expensive wood resin created when the Southeast Asian Aquilaria tree is attacked by a certain type of mold. The richly fragrant resin, which the tree produces in its core to fight off the infecting mold, has been harvested from affected trees for centuries and used for incense and perfume oil.

Did you know?

Known for its sacred aroma (mentioned in all religious scriptures) the agarwood (oudh) is recommended in the treatment of:

  • Neuromuscular conditions
  • Anemia
  • Blood Impurities
  • Skin problems
  • Urinary infections
  • Indigestion
  • Impotence
  • Rheumatic and Arthritic conditions

I’ve used this face wash three times now, and I’m just loving the fact that it doesn’t dry my face, it has neem and aloe vera as key ingredients, and I must say that they are smart enough to research the product well and add aloe vera to the face wash.

If most of you have been using a certain herbal brand in Dubai they use neem and turmeric, which is good but extremely drying to the skin, and I had to always apply a moisturizer every time I used their face wash. But with Dr. Neems facewash there is no sign of dryness at all, I guess it’s the aloe vera element that maintains the moisture of the skin.

This product purifies (ideal for acne prone skin), antibacterial and simultaneously moisturizes your skin as well! that’s the best part! I’m sure most of the acne-prone skin people would agree with me, most of the face washes catering to acne can be very drying, the commercial ones can be filled with strong chemicals as well, switch to this brand and see the difference.

Did you know? (3 interesting facts)

1. Aloe gel can be consumed and may serve as a treatment for osteoarthritis, diabetes and treat the effects of radiation therapy.

2. Cleopatra used aloe gel on her face and body as part of her beauty regimen.

3. Aloe gel can be used as a makeup remover and can even replace your hair conditioner.

This is an extra moisturising soap with germ protection, the fact that its key element was 100% authentic camel milk, made me curious about how it would feel and smell, the fragrance was very nice, a light baby powder kind of fragrance, very refreshing on the skin and leaves it feeling smooth and rejuvenated, the best part is the germ protection.

Camel milk has been known for centuries for its healing properties. This exotic ingredient in Dr. Neem Camel Milk Soap contains vital nutrients for stronger immune system and is a natural source of alpha- hydroxy acids (AHA) that soften the skin, make it supple and smooth to prevent wrinkles.

Did you know?

  • Cleopatra was reputed to have regularly bathed in Camel Milk for its unique healing powers.
  • Camel´s milk is saturated with proteins used in moisturizing creams, rich in Vitamin C (a natural anti-oxidant), and anti-bacterial agents to help protect and maintain healthy skin.
  • You can also get lustrous looks with camel milk, and reduce dandruff. Camel milk is a blessing for people with oily hair, as it helps remove excess oil.

Aah, I saved the best for the last, this Dr. Neem petroleum jelly with Aloe Vera is my current favorite product, I’m always been a vaseline fan, and even posted an article with their benefits you can find here

this petroleum jelly will be my best friend, the fact that it has the powerful ingredient Aloe Vera, leaves my skin feeling soft and supple.

Did you know?

This can be used for nicks, cuts, and abrasions, the Aloe Vera enriched formula gives an added protection again harmful elements. So I’m definitely sticking to this for now, and you must give this a try.

I’m so excited to know that there is another option of natural products easily available in hypermarkets for all of us in Dubai, their affordable and of high quality. I don’t have to stick to a certain brand which was the only option I had, so this is definitely something I’m really glad about and will be stocking them for sure.

My favorites:  petroleum jelly and the neem and aloe vera face wash!

So what are you waiting for? go get this product and let me know what you think? comment below on your opinion!

Happy Neeming! 🙂
