FENTY BEAUTY – Foundation & Lipgloss Review πŸ’‹

SARAH SHAFNI

The moment I heard Rihanna released her range of anticipated makeup collection, The “Fenty Beauty”, I did what most bloggers do, went straight for the reviews, Whenever I purchase a cosmetic product or any lifestyle-related products I always check on reviews and see what people have to say, their opinions, their feedback.

Nothing like hearing it from the real people than relying on the heavily marketed
advertisements or paid social media specialists who seduce, brainwash and convince you to buy their products!

(For those of you who want to skip the gab and hit right to the review, go straight below and read text from Review!)

I check out YouTubers who are upfront and honest with the product, above all, you can see how the product is on them and their reactions says it all.

Firstly I was confused on why RiRi (Rihanna) would name her collection Fenty? So I googled it and made a pleasant discovery, apparently, our Girl RiRi’s family name is Fenty! I think that’s awfully sweet of her to name her entire makeup collection with her family name!

So the moment Fenty hit Sephora, there was a stampede of women of all nationalities, colors trying to grab hold of the Fenty range, So knowing all that I usually
hate purchasing in an overcrowded makeup store, the makeup consultants or Sephora store staff tend to get a bit dazed out with the crowd, I don’t blame them, who wouldn’t?

What I was really desperate to grab from the Fenty collection was the foundation, It seems the Fenty collection has a 40-shade range of foundations! Rihana apparently refused to release a collection that didn’t cater to all skin tones. Yes!!! You have no freaking idea how hard it is for us women of color to find the right shade of foundation in just one bottle rather than mixing and matching with 2 foundations just to get the right shade for your skin!

I then decide to go a couple weeks later with my sister, we hit to Sephora at the Dubai Mall. We both get ourselves a Fenty Foundation and the luminizing gloss, the rest of the stuff was out of stock except for the brushes and blotting paper. There was also the match stix trio which I didn’t purchase, that will be my next buy when passing by Sephora again.

Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation

Shade – 320

Packaging – Minimalistic with a sophisticated look, Frosted Glass with a pump for easy usage.

What Rihana says about the productβ€œFoundation is one of those areas in the beauty industry that has a big void for women at extreme ends of the shade spectrum. There’s this middle ground that’s covered really, really well.

But then if you’re very pale or if you’re very dark, there aren’t a lot of options. And so, I wanted to make sure that women of all skin tones were covered so they could be included in what I created.”

Can I just start off by saying how fabulous this product is, as mentioned before getting the right shade of foundation for me is such a hassle, they’re either too light, too dark or too orangey, this foundation shade hit the mark with me, and will treasure this for life!!

Once I primed my face, to use the foundation its a must to shake the bottle well as instructed on the packaging. Used my finger to dot the foundation all over my face
and used a lightly dampened beauty blender to blend it all the way. One pump was all I need to get a natural looking, fresh and brightened the complexion. This was a winner for me!

This foundation is such a delight, I’ve got many compliments on how great and fresh my skin looks, hubby couldn’t believe I had a foundation on since it looked so natural on me. This product is of great value because you don’t need a lot of the product, just one pump would do.

Also, it’s important to shake the bottle well so the foundation won’t oxidize. Make sure you go for one shade lighter than your skin as the product oxidizes and will tend to look a bit darker than your skin. (If unsure ask for the store staff to assist you pick the right shade).

Pros

  • One Pump only needed
  • Perfect shade
  • great shade range for anyone
  • Great quality
  • Glides well on skin
  • Natural looking (great for no makeup look)

Cons

  • The product can oxidize (Buy one shade lighter than your skin)
  • May not be suitable for dry skin (You need to test patch)

Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer

Shade – Lightly Shimmered Rose Nude Shade

Packaging – A unique hexagonal shape transparent sturdy tube with a rose gold cap adding glamour to the product

What Rihanna Says about the productβ€œI made it because I wanted the girls to get kissed more.” πŸ˜‰

This is the ultimate gotta-have-it lip gloss with an explosive shine that feels as good as it looksβ€”in one universal rose nude shade.

Love this gloss. It’s not sticky and glides on smoothly. The applicator is super soft and easy to work with. It’s a sheer bronzy pink with some brown and gold tones; it definitely adds color and shimmer to my pigmented lips and brightens up my whole face,

The great factor is the how moisturizing the lip gloss is, the richness from shea butter conditions and enriches from within, giving your lips an instant fuller and smoother look. The gloss is a bit shimmery but gives you a great feeling to your lips with a peach-vanilla scent which you cant get enough off.

Pros

  • A clear sheer color which can be used on top of any of your lipsticks
  • Shimmery
  • Great for a natural fresh look
  • Pleasant Scent
  • Thick texture, lasts longer
  • Richness of shea butter leaves lips super soft

Cons

  • Glosses are not trending these days
  • Shimmery (Not all are into the shimmery look)

Hope you find this review useful, let me know what you purchased from the Fenty range and your feedback on the products.
