Get ready for a thrill ride through the skies and a love of jets, speed, and pilots in uniform with Top Gun Maverick!
Director Joseph Kosinski resurrects a 1980s-era relic, making the thirty-plus-year-old franchise a blockbuster!
I remember watching Top Gun for the first time in the 90s as a kid, and was awestruck with how macho the movie was, it made flying jets so cool, and I remember how the boys were so influenced by Pete Maverick (Tom Cruise) his aviator sunglasses and bomber jackets were such hype and still influence generations and pop cultures to this day!
Maverick proves to be a perfect legacyquel, with its adrenaline-pumping dogfights grounded by a top notched performance from Tom Cruise.
The Story takes from after 30 years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. Training a detachment of graduates for a special assignment, Maverick confronts the ghosts of his past and his deepest fears, topping in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who choose to fly it.
Not only does Maverick nail it, but it soars above and beyond its predecessor. The emotion is surprisingly impactful, as we still feel the weight of the original’s events. For those who haven’t watched the movie yet, It’s best to watch this before you watch Maverick to get a better understanding of the roots of the storyline.
The movie has a couple of heartwarming easter eggs throughout the storyline, everything the audience has been looking forward to seeing! They knew and delivered!
I know for all you romantics the passionate steaming chemistry from the Topgun was unforgettable, but it is equally present here between Maverick and Benjamin, I loved that their chemistry kicked off and made their pairing even better with the similar age group and their background.
This movie was mastered and created with the latest audio/video technology that would have been impossible to do decades before. Most importantly created and made for the big screen! I was lucky to have watched this in Dolby Cinemas, making Maverick an even more immersive experience.
The thrill was in all the details from the roaring and thrust of engines, to the drifting of the missiles, the sound quality was so high tech making you feel as if you were a part of the movie or let’s say flying the jets!
Exceeding the range and grasp of the original, and giving a new generation a taste of the Boy’s heroism made the first film a classic and gave the movie the machoism that’s missing these days.

If you are a 80’s/90s or even a Z-gen this is a movie to add to your legendary movie lists, and make sure to watch this on the big screen for the best immersive movie experience you can ever witness! This movie guarantees to jet your endorphins high!
