This DIY has been pending since last week, I’ve been wanting to organize the kitchen and sort my kitchen counter, I realized my cutlery holders needed some organizing and was wondering if this could be a good excuse for another DIY project! And yes it was!
There’s something about DIY projects that can be very de-stressing and gives you a sense of pride and accomplishment, especially when you create something pretty for yourself! 😉
So I got to search for stuff lying around and found a nice cardboard tray which comes with my mineral water packaging. As you are aware I like creating recycled DIY projects and upcycling them! This tray would be ideal for organizing the cutleries.
What you will be needing for this project:
- Cardboard tray
- Paint brushes
- Paint palette
- White and crimson red acrylic paint
First, you will need to add 2-3 squeezes of white paint to the palette and 1 squeeze of the crimson red, mix this until you get a nice bright pink. Now paint this onto to the tray
And make sure you double stroke them depending how much coverage your paint gives. Brush strokes should be right to left this gives better coverage.
Trace the word “Cutlery” in a fancy font, if you want you can use stencils, I used free hand way writing style, now add white paint to another section of the palette and use the thin brushes and add white paint, now start painting the text carefully.
Voila! you have a nice bright cutlery tray for your holders, I used a pink kitchen towel as a lining under. This really brightened the kitchen counter and added a fun element to the counter!
As you can see, you can make DIY projects with anything you have and it’s always great to recycle!
Hope you enjoyed this post!
