World Fashion Festival (WFF) honors the outstanding contribution and lifetime achievements of fashion icons across seven continents that are dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of fashion, to further creative leadership, artistic, technical and social achievement within the fashion industry.

As an internationally acclaimed event and network for trade and fashion professionals, the concept provides a forum for Middle East exposure and recognition, with a major role in contributing to the harmonious growth and development of the fashion industry, working towards the greater good of supporting relationships to keep the fashion industry sustainable and unprejudiced.

This festival is created to celebrate and commemorate the glory, spirit, and art of fashion throughout the world and to highlight the achievements of national, regional and international significance in the fashion world, over the past years.

In 2019, the WFFA celebrates the ‘Year of Tolerance’ to continue to reflect Sheikh Zayed’s vision on building the bridge of communication and friendship between people of different cultures in a respectful environment that rejects extremism and emphasizes on the acceptance of the other.

WFFA (Word Fashion Festival Awards) have the immense to contribute this goal be having dedicated and opened the doors of the new season at the heart of Dubai at Sofitel the Palm Hotel.

Brought by 13 of the world’s most talented and actual emerging fashion designers enrolled to compete in two distinct categories “Best Collection” and “Best Dress”.

UAE Royal members, distinguished guests, International artists, and Diplomats from more than 30 countries were present at this prestigious occasion and inaugurating the fashion show.

Knows as the “Oscars for the Art & Fashion”, The World Fashion Festival Awards had prepared this season with a red carpet event which included:

• World Premiere Book Launch of “Blue Bell” by the marvelous Elisa Maria Coelho (Niece of Paulo Coelho) from Brazil
• Book launch of Art & Royal Lyrics collection by the Award Winner German Writer Dr. Monica Mergiu
• Incredible Catwalk shows and “Best Dress” show based on Festival Challenge (Theme: Avante Garde)
• And the breathtaking and most awaited collection by the exceptional Dr. Mona Al Mansouri – The First Emirati Woman Fashion Designer and Multi Award Winner.

This season was a unique platform presenting the Business and Fashion Pavillion where all brands and fashion designers attended having the opportunity to meet face to face with International retailers, vendors, buyers, for direct business and joint ventures.

The event was a memorable and global one, where it was a pleasure seeing juries from around the world and UAE seated, watching how their flags were placed at their jury table gave me such “United Nations” vibe.

The BEST COLLECTION TROPHY AWARD of the World Fashion Festival SS19 was won by EMULEOS / Designer: Emily Prozinski (USA) with an amazing “Tougher than
Diamonds” concept of outfits and unique show.

The BEST DRESS TROPHY AWARD – Baravia Fashion by Gulnar Mukhedinova (Uzbekistan), followed closely by EMULEOS by Emily Prozinski (USA) and Atelier STRAIU’ by Ioana Samarghitan (Italy).

The BEST ACCESSORY BRAND Award – Lacramioara Crisan with a vibrant collection of bags associated with a collection of amazing dresses designed by Alina Gurguta inspired by “The Shape of Blue”.

The BEST MODEL TROPHY AWARD – Sabine Liboa, a superb exotic model from Cameroon.

The BEST EMERGING BRAND – Aelita Couture by Aelita (Kazakhstan) is one of the designers who competed in the first edition of the WFFA as a recognition of her high up climb in less than a year with spectacular collections and shows in France, Monaco, Russia, and Kazakhstan.

The FASHION ICON Award  – VINCENT McDOOM. He is a Celebrity Fashion Designer, Artistic Director to many famous fashion houses including at Louis Vuitton. He is as well a TV Host, Actor and a Judge at Next Top Model shows in Poland, Russia and Belgium.

BEST NEWCOMERS WRITERS Awarded to MARIA ELISA COELHO & GUSTAVO ANNECCHINI. Maria Elisa is a Journalist, writer, and director of Talents of the Oroboro Entertainment Talent Agency and Gustavo is a writer and Director of Oroboro
Entertainment Talent Agency, both coming from Brazil.

BEST UAE AMBASSADOR FOR CULTURE & ART was awarded to Dr. MONICA MERGIU, She is a Physician, Writer and Award Winning Author.

The Best Emerging Brand was Awarded to Maria Majari. Maria is the Founder and Creative Director at JADA Dubai, designer of World’s most expensive pair of shoes costing 17 million US Dollars!

The Best Beauty Ambassador for the Middle East – Dr. MANSOOR AL OBEIDL  an Emirati Entrepreneur, Doctor, Actor, and Middle East Regional Director of the World Beauty Congress.

The Best Emerging UAE Beauty Brand – HIND BIN NAISER, Hind is an extraordinary Makeup Artist and owner of the First U.A.E Makeup Brand – “HBN Cosmetics” which was officially launched during WFFA 2018.

Best Emerging Artist – Amal is a writer, motivator, a painting artist and a talented speaker.

Best Emerging Artist – Rodica Benintendi, She has displayed two of her amazing oversized paintings at the WFFA SS19 capturing the fairies and stories of colors and journeys in simple yet complex artwork compositions. The two paintings were inspired by Dubai’s glam and dedicated to WFFA.

The Best Photographer – Emilio Poblete from France.

The Best Travel Blogger – Lenka Josefiova, She has started her blogging journey less than 2 years ago, but she has gained hundreds of thousands of active followers by traveling the world and posting meaningful stories about each place she’s been to.

Best Media Coverage – Moda Dynastie has become an important luxurious
lifestyle and fashion magazine, covering the festival with significant details of all designers who showcased at the WFFA 2018.

Best Fashion Blogger – Sarah Shafni.

Sarah has been an active and creative media partner with the World Fashion Festival, publishing and capturingg amazing interviews, photos and editorials with WFFA artists and designers.

An extravagant fashion event, bringing together designers and artists from across the globe and above all bridging cultures and diversity to the fashion world.
