Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream

So I’m pretty sure all of you have already read reviews for Maybelline BB cream, well I know it’s a bit late, but I still would like to share my opinion and critique the product 🙂

Right, so I’ve tried both the dream fresh BB cream for oily and normal skin. Firstly I’ve recently heard they have discontinued the BB cream for oily skin in Dubai (apparently for low sales..) well bad luck for oily skinned girls like me..

Just as when I was about to start getting used to it. Why do they always have to discontinue your favorite product? Why?.. 😦

Anyways, firstly I shall start with the Dream fresh BB cream (Normal Skin)

I’ve always wanted to have a quick makeup routine for work, especially when you wake up early and you just don’t have the energy to cake yourself or go all Kim Kardashian on yourself.

When I first heard of this product I was skeptical since I’ve never used a BB cream before. The first time I tried this I noticed how smoothly it glided on my skin which has a softer and lighter texture compare to the usual heavy foundation I use.

I’m not going to go all technical with the ingredients etc, since I’m not a chemist or an expert in this area. I’m only going to give you a very basic opinion.

The BB cream was very smooth and had light coverage, the thing is this would be ideal for any woman, be it a high school/college or career woman.

It has you covered with all the basic requirements such as:

  • SPF30
  • Hydrates your skin all day
  • Blurs imperfection (does not completely conceal them)
  • Creates a natural glow (well more of a brighter complexion)
  • Compliments your skin tone (You would be lucky to have a bb cream that matches your complexion, I’ve had friends who had a hard time finding the right color to match them)

Before BB cream stepped into my life; I used to apply a sun screen, a moisturizer, a foundation and then a compact.. Imagine applying all this before going to work.. So BB cream was a time saver for me.

For all you busy ladies out there BB cream is the answer to your daily makeup routine. It’s an all in one option, infact you could slap on your BB cream in your parking lot, or at the ladies. This is just a quick fix option.

Pros:

  • Easy to apply
  • light weight
  • Natural looking
  • Smooth
  • Easy blend

Now as far as the negative points for this product, I’d say the coverage is poor, you can still see your pimples or acne marks, and this would be perfect for all the blessed clear skinned girls/women out there. But for girls like me they don’t.. So I’d suggest you apply some concelar before applying your BB cream, this helps with the coverage.

Cons:

  • Poor coverage
  • Doesn’t stay on (specially if you sweat)
  • Messy liquid, poor packaging
  • Not suitable for oily skin

Now the New Dream fresh BB cream (Oily Skin) which has been discontinued in Dubai.

This was the perfect BB cream for me, it had a mattfying effect, was better in concealing, and was ideal for me since I tend to sweat a lot during summer.

Pros:

  • Conceals imperfections
  • Helps protect against blemishes
  • Oil-free, non-greasy
  • Minimizes the appearance of pores
  • A more clearer complexion look
  • Hydrates and smoothens
  • Good pigmentation

Con:

  • The liquid is messy from the package, had to always make sure I don’t spill.

I don’t have many complaints about this, since this is my favorite BB cream!

So that was my feedback for this product, hope this was useful 🙂
